BIOGRAPHY

Born in Bogotá in 1976, CHANOIR is a Franco-Colombian artist who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he trained in the studios of Jean-Michel Alberola and François Boisrond. Since the 2000s, he has developed a unique body of work at the crossroads of Modest Art, Pop Art, Free Figuration, and Street Art, reviving the imagery of cartoons, graffiti, and underground cultures.

In 2002, he founded the collective “1980,” whose experiments at the intersection of graffiti, performance, and animation helped to renew the aesthetics of European street art. In 2009, he participated in the exhibition “Born in the Street” at the Fondation Cartier, a landmark event in the institutional history of graffiti.

The famous CHA, feline characters with clean lines and inspired by popular imagery and cartoons, have become the emblem of CHANOIR, building a graphic narrative that questions the relationship to the image, repetition and the icon.

CHANOIR has made his mark in major cities, collaborating with prestigious brands such as Samsung , Emanuel Ungaro , Ubisoft and Disney . His work goes beyond the boundaries of street art and invites itself into the world of design, fashion and luxury.

In 2019, CHANOIR was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of Arts and Letters) by the French Ministry of Culture. His works, present in museum and private collections, are regularly auctioned at Artcurial and Drouot , confirming their growing appeal.

In recent years, his work has been successfully exhibited in France and internationally. In 2023, the acquisition of his works by the Deji Art Museum in China marked a new milestone in his career. He also exhibits in renowned galleries in Japan, cementing his status as a key player in contemporary street art.
