About the work
This work draws on a deeply rooted childhood memory: a scene from Snow White where the heroine tames the forest. Kierans revisits this initiatory moment using a film image filtered by memory and emotion. The translucent layers of paint create an almost spectral atmosphere, where idealized innocence takes on a mythical dimension. The image becomes less a quotation than a pictorial reminiscence, both familiar and strangely suspended.
